About Ms. MannI grew up in Raleigh and have seen many changes. Of my 25 years as an educator, Hilburn has been my school home for 16 years. When I'm not teaching Kindergarten, or planning for Kindergarten, or thinking about Kindergarten, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have 3 mostly grown boys. The oldest is a graduate of Appalachian State University. One is a junior and one is a sophomore at Appalachian. I also like to be outside ~ traveling, hiking, gardening, or just reading in the hammock. My undergraduate degree is from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I also marched in the band. I also hold a Master's in Elementary Education and Reading Meredith College. As a mentor teacher, I am fortunate to work with student interns. I am privileged to host interns from North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Meredith College. I also mentor new educators in their first years of teaching. These professional endeavors keep me well informed about innovative teaching strategies and feed my passion for teaching. I also strive to support my school community through my work on the PBIS and Media-Technology committees.
